Overview
History
Fidelity has a rich history stretching back to 1957, when the company was started by two partners to service the emerging Cash-In-Transit industry. The first guarding services were introduced in 1968 and shortly thereafter the company diversified into computerised payroll bureau services - a world first. The company continued to evolve with buy-ins and buy-outs, with acquisitions adding to the portfolio of services. One thing remained constant - a disciplined and an uncompromising ethos of security service excellence.
This, coupled with loyal and dedicated employees, led to the steady growth which today sees Fidelity as South Africa's largest security operator. In 2005/6 the need for a meaningful BEE partnership led to the unbundling of the 40 000 employee group into separate entities, which then individually secured BEE partnerships.
The Cash-In-Transit division was sold off as part of this process and for a while, the Fidelity Group did not offer this service. In 2010, however, the movement of cash and valuable goods was reintroduced with the launch of Fidelity Cash Solutions. Fidelity's achievements attest to the calibre of people in the diversified workforce that makes up the Fidelity Family, all of whom are valued for their ideas, innovation and efforts.
Vision
To be the pre-eminent provider of integrated services protecting the assets of our clients in Southern Africa and targeted international markets, through the consistent achievement of excellence in every sphere of security provision and client service.
